The College is an academic and research oriented center of excellence in the science discipline with a glorious past, a dynamic present and a brilliant future. It is situated in academic ambience, next to the University and it is the most sought after College for the study of Science.
Primarily as a private college, it was established in 1944, later taken over by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 1972 and in 1986 it was created as Govt. Postgraduate College with bifurcation, consequently the science faculty had been developed into Govt. Postgraduate Science College, which was awarded the status of ‘Model College’ by the state government in 1987 and the UGC accorded it recognition under section 2 (f) & 12 (B) 15th July, 1986.
